There are many things which prevent you from getting the internet, but the most likely is a glitch because of a static electricity spike somewhere in the system. It could be in the Modem, or the Router, or your computer. So, the first thing to try is to unplug the modem and router and restart your computer -- ALL THREE THINGS!
