Tips on Avoiding Scams
I wrote up a quick blurb for a class I was teaching last year, and I thought I’d share it here so everyone can learn to better protect themselves! These classes were held last year, and (hopefully) we should have more scheduled soon. Keep an eye out for a future announcement! From August 2024: On November 11, I’ll teach a class for DU’s Enrichment Program called How to Detect and Avoid Internet Scams and Identity Theft. The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center receives more than 4,000 complaints per day on average and Americans lost $12.5 billion to all kinds of internet…

Our Proprietary Total Transfer Program
Unlike other companies, we make it easy to use the new computer right away. If you go to our competitors, they will move your files on a flash drive from the old to a new computer – that’s it. We go far above and beyond this. We move the programs, settings, toolbars, printers, browser passwords, wi-fi passwords, downloads, shortcuts and more. Here’s a video of that process when I was 15 pounds thinner: It takes about 3 business days for the transfer, and we are closed on the weekends, so try to schedule accordingly. You can CLICK HERE for the sheet…

3 Business Day Average Turnaround on Repairs and Transfer of Programs, Settings and Data
Hate Waiting? Us too! We are faster than ANY of our competitors. Most places have a 4-week wait before they will even look at your computer. Our goal is 3 business days or less to have your computer fixed. We meet this goal 95% of the time! (Sometimes we have to order parts and that would logically take longer). PLEASE NOTE: With Windows 10 nearing end of support in October, we will be getting busier and busier as October approaches! Keep this in mind when bringing in a computer for transfer. We have an average of 15 computers in our…

Social Security Recommendation
Starting March 29, 2025, the Social Security Administration is requiring people who haven’t signed up for an online account to sign in or there is a “CHANCE” that your benefits will be delayed. It’s been 30 days since they announced that, so I would get on this ASAP. I believe they are confirming you are a real, living human and might flag you if you don’t do this. YES, www.ssa.gov is “THE” government website, and it is safe to put in your social security number here. “Note www. ssa. com is a fraud site, so type it correctly with GOV…

Backup for Cloud Storage
Just because emails and documents are with Google or Microsoft 365 doesn’t mean they are there forever. They only keep backups for 30 days, and the data can be deleted accidentally or intentionally by a user. So, this company backs up your online data for you forever, as long as you maintain their account. Online backup programs like Carbonite, iDrive, and external hard drives, CANNOT backup your online emails. If you use outlook with Google or Microsoft 365, it creates a “live” file called an .OST and even if you back it up, it cannot be restored to a computer…

Access to Tier 2 Support for Microsoft Products
95% of computer users rely on Microsoft Office which includes Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive and Teams. Businesses typically renew their subscription of $6 to $12.50/month per user (usually paid annually) to Microsoft. Though we are Microsoft Certified, occasionally there’s a problem with their servers which require emailing then hopefully talking with an overseas technician. Anything above a password reset or billing issues require making a ticket to Tier 2 level technicians, which could take days. We have been working with Pax8 which gives Tier 2 level tech support very rapidly. Their global headquarters is right in DTC at Belleview…
